Some men fight fires. Others serve in the United States Marine Corps. A few free solo steep mountains, but this man right here is the bravest of them all.
Alright, that’s a bit over the top but as a married man, I understand that nerves the naturally show up as you’re walking over to your wife to tell her that you are going to be doing something, especially when that something is big. Honestly, I don’t know why I get so nervous as my wife has never once gotten mad that I went out to do whatever it was that I was going to do, but there’s some animal instinct inside of any man that wells up when it’s time to have “that” conversation with their woman.
This video isn’t the first time we’ve seen a husband give fair warning to his wife that he’s going to be unavailable for farmers markets, apple picking, or whatever it is women actually enjoy doing (jokes, just jokes people). This New York Knicks fan literally said he “will not be a husband” during basketball season and this guy put in his two-week-notice that Sunday’s are no longer available once the NFL came back, but this one I actually like way more because it’s a dude telling his wife “no I can’t hang out with you” not because some other guys are playing televised sports (which I do a ton of) but because he would be out on the water, competing and trying to support the family by winning purse money from bass fishing contests.
While it’s pretty clear that she’s used to this behavior (their TikTok handle is @bassandboujee after all) the way he breaks it all down to ensure there’s no confusion proves he’s still not 100% sure about how this will go, even though, as we just discussed above, he’s doing these bass tournaments to support the family. They need that extra $150 prize for third place! So what if he spent tens of thousands on equipment, it just means he has to compete more to pay it off!
Just listen to how he goes about this. Yes, he may have been nervous at first but he performed like an absolute champion:
“Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye. I bring forth the 2025 bass tournament fishing schedule. This is so you’ve been made aware, here’s your copy, you have been served, with bass tournament schedule… This is my copy for my records.
During this time, these are all the bass tournaments, but there will be some in between there. We have gone over this before.
We will see you during the 2025 season, make sure there’s sandwiches and necessary snacks and Pop-Tarts and biscuits and things in the cabinets. Tuna is made for days, hard boiled eggs, sardines, all those things that are needed for snacks during this multiple-tournament schedule.
You have been made aware of it. The king, the grown a** man, has made you aware of the 2025 bass tournament…
Do you fully understand your rights as a wife of a bass tournament fisher?”
Okay, at the end that may have taken a turn for some of the more, shall we say, equitable among us, but it’s clear this wife supports her man in his fishing endeavors and is enjoying this whole thing as much as he is.
Gotta say, there’s really nothing better than when your wife makes you something to bring on the road so shoutout to her if she really willing to keep the cabinets stocked up for all his on-boat snacking needs.
I may have to put one of these together for my wife… stayed tuned if I make it out alive.
