More brilliant analysis from the big brains on The View.
Of course the daytime talk show has never really been known for their insightful political takes. The panel of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin are well known for their liberal political takes, and some of their insane analysis has gone viral in the past for just how batshit crazy their takes can be.
For the most part though, it’s just a liberal echo chamber that’s catering to their hyper partisan audience.
Well as you can imagine, they’ve become particularly unhinged since former President Donald Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
The day after the election, the hosts dressed in black and appeared to be on the verge of tears as they bemoaned the “racism” and “misogyny” that put Trump back in the White House.
And in November, they even encouraged viewers to skip Thanksgiving with their family members who supported Trump:

Well with Congress meeting today to certify the results of the 2024 presidential election and officially declare Trump the next president, which also happens to be the anniversary of the January 6th protests at the Capitol back in 2021, you just knew that the hosts of The View were going to have some completely rational thoughts.
Of course by rational I mean totally unhinged. And luckily, they didn’t disappoint.
While talking about January 6th, Hostin called it “one of the worst moments in American history” and compared it to – the Holocaust?
“I think we need to find moral clarity in this country…
I say no, you don’t move on, because January 6th was an atrocity. It was one of the worst moments in American history. And when you think about the worst moments in American history, like World War II, things that happened like the Holocaust, chattel slavery, we need to never forget, because past becomes prologue if you forget any race.”

What an insane string of word vomit. It reminds me of that scene from Billy Madison: “What you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.”
I mean, we’ll start with the obvious: Six million people were slaughtered during the Holocaust, which was no doubt one of the worst atrocities in human history. Over 400,000 Americans were killed during World War II. And slavery is universally agreed to be one of the biggest stains on American history that lasted nearly a century, cost millions of lives, and divided our country to the point that we had a Civil War to end the horrific practice.
January 6th, on the other hand, saw an estimated 2,500 people enter the Capitol illegally, and only four people actually died that day: One was a protestor who was shot by the Capitol Police, one was a protestor who overdosed, and two who died from natural causes.
In the aftermath, four police officers died by suicide, and one passed away from a stroke.
Oh, and the election was certified later that evening and President Joe Biden took office later that month.
Were the attacks on police officers that day shameful? Absolutely. Were the chants of “Hang Mike Pence” disgusting? Without a doubt.
But does a guy with a viking helmet standing in the US Senate really compare to the murder of millions of Jews in the Holocaust? Any rational person knows the answer to that.
(Not to mention that…the Holocaust didn’t happen in America. Is that really even “American” history?)
And as Scott Jennings pointed out on CNN, it was really up to the American people to decide how they felt about January 6th – and it seems that they made their feelings known in November when they voted for President Donald Trump:

Wouldn’t expect anything less from the geniuses at The View though.
