Atta boy, Luke! Way to represent for all the regular dudes out there.
I do my best to stay away from celebrity gossip type publications, which of course I wind up reading anyway, and while most of the time I find myself halfway through an article on the dating life of some actor and wonder how and why I ended up there, this time I got quite a pleasant surprise when scanning through a recent list by People titled “Sexy At Every Age”.
People has long been known for their “Sexiest Man Alive” designation every year and it sometimes raises a few eyebrows (remember when Blake Shelton won? That was so funny). This year, Jim Halpert John Krasinski (sorry I grew up outside Scranton) was crowned the winner though he faced (I assume, what even is the selection process for this?) some heavy competition from a bunch of rich and famous people with a good hair and makeup team.
As an offshoot to their annual selection this year, People decided to do a list of celebrities who are sexy as every age from 20 to 42, and, well, let’s just say some of the choices are interesting.
Keep in mind this is coming from the view of a happily married man who loves his wife, so I’m certainly not the best judge of another dude’s attractiveness, but still… I do have eyes.
Honestly, I don’t recognize a lot of these names (who the heck is D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, The Kid Laroi, and Barry Keoghan?) but some of the ones I do are making me scratch my head.
Warren Zeiders took home gold for age 25 (must have been those killer shirtless TikToks), Noah Kahan for age 27, Hunter Hayes for 33 (forgot about this guy), Michael Che for 41, and best of all… Luke Combs for age 34.
That’s right, the guy that felt out-of-place when he got to Nashville and was surrounded by a bunch of Riley Green lookalikes is now certified to be one of, if not the, sexiest 34 year old man on planet Earth.
If you remember, Luke opened up about his regular, average Joe appearance during his Joe Rogan episode last year:
“I mean realistically, I thought to myself, especially at the time I moved to town is like, dude, everybody that was doing music when I moved to town was hot, dude. 6’5”, abs, I mean… I didn’t have a chance, bro. I didn’t have a chance.”
Well, who’s laughing now, Luke? You can walk around Nashville with your head held high, Columbia PFG shirt unbuttoned, Crocs on, knowing full well that you are confirmed to be the sexiest of all the 34 year old’s in that town.
Obviously, I’m joking a bit here but it just goes to show a few things.
One, you never know who’s going to find you attractive. There really isn’t one ideal look for anyone in this world and if you’ve got a big heart and a killer personality, not to mention a sick beard, beautiful singing voice, and insane shot-gunning skills, and just give it enough time, you’ll receive your flowers in many ways.
Secondly, you have to view stuff from People and the like as nothing more than sugary eye candy. Sure, drama is interesting and we love talking about who’s hot and who’s not, but at the end of the day it’s just someone typing on a keyboard (like me right now) trying to put together a list of things that get the public talking.
Congratulations to Mr. Luke Combs, the sexiest 34 year old in the world. Of all your career accomplishments, it’s sure going to be hard to top this one…
