Stepping up for the pets.
Today, it was announced that Miranda Lambert donated $250,000 through her MuttNation foundation to go towards helping 32 animal shelters and organizations across multiple states that were impacted by the recent hurricanes, Helene and Milton.
She previously donated over $100,000 to Hurricane Helene relief efforts, after western North Carolina, as well as parts of South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia were devastated by historic floodwaters.
Miranda held her Music for Mutts benefit concert the week Helene hit, which featured many of her artist friends like Lukas Nelson, Riley Green, Hardy, Jake Worthington, Ashley Monroe and more. Artists who weren’t able to join in person also supported the MuttNation efforts, including Chris Stapleton, Trisha Yearwood, Morgan Wallen and Noah Kahan.
It’s been amazing to see so many country artists step up to help hurricane victims so selflessly, from Dolly Parton to Morgan Wallen, Eric Church and Luke Combs and more, and Miranda says she knew she had to help through MuttNation as soon as it all happened:
“Helene hit the week before our Music for Mutts benefit concert, and it only seemed right to use the event to help with hurricane recovery efforts. Then Milton came right behind it – packing a devastating one-two punch.
Thankfully, and thanks to all the animal loving supporters who’ve made donations to our MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund, we were able to quickly get help where it was needed most.
We know this will be a very long recovery and we’re committed to helping our four-legged friends and the people who care for them get back on their feet.”
100% of the money will go towards the MuttNation Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues fund and distributed to those in need due to the aforementioned hurricanes. Kimberley Gardiner, chief marketing officer at Tractor Supply, says they’re “honored” to lend a helping hand to those in need:
“Caring for animals and our communities is central to Life Out Here, and we’re passionate about giving back, especially during times like these. As the region recovers from these hurricanes, we’re honored to lend a helping hand to shelters that have been impacted.”
The recovery efforts are ongoing, and obviously pets mean so much to so many people, so it’s neat to see Miranda finding a unique way to help animal lovers during this time.
In terms of the concert itself, Miranda had many of the performing artists join her onstage, including Lukas who joined her for a duet honoring the late, great Kris Kristofferson with a performance of “Silver Wings,” one he loved by his friend Merle Haggard:
Riley joined her to sing his fan-favorite song “I Wish Grandpas Never Died,” where they delivered a beautiful acoustic duet of the hit:
In terms of other big donations from country stars for hurricane relief efforts, Eric Church and Luke Combs hosted their Concert For Carolina benefit a couple weekends ago, and raised over 24.5 MILLION and counting with a star-studded show.
While there has been so much tragedy around these storms, and many peoples lives will never be the same, it’s been a bright spot to see so many use their resources for good for the places they love so dearly.
