Ol’ Bobby changed his mind on Taylor Swift?
Kid Rock is obviously on a different side of the political aisle than the pop superstar. He’s been outspoken on his support for former President Donald Trump, and even performed at the Republican National Convention when Trump officially accepted the GOP nomination for president back in August.
Swift, meanwhile, endorsed Trump’s opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, in an Instagram post recently, and even drew the attention of Trump himself when he took to his Truth Social platform to declare that he “hated” the pop star.
But Swift isn’t the only celebrity endorsement that Harris has received lately. During a rally in his home state of Michigan, rapper Eminem appeared alongside Harris and former President Barack Obama to deliver his endorsement for the Democrat nominee.
.@Eminem: I don't think anyone wants an America where people are worried about retribution of what people will do if you make your opinion known. I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected and upheld pic.twitter.com/tVVHO00ANn

Like Kid Rock, Eminem is also a Detroit native, putting the two celebrities on different sides of the aisle in a year when their home state of Michigan is expected to play a role as a swing state in deciding the 2024 election.
But according to Kid Rock (whose real name is Bob Ritchie), it doesn’t change his opinion on Eminem.
In a video posted to his social media, Rock not only expressed his support for Eminem, but he even praised Taylor Swift for speaking out on her political views:
“Now that I have your attention, I love Eminem. We’ve been friends for many years. I don’t agree with his politics, but I do give credit to him and people like Taylor Swift for standing up and not being afraid to be vocal for that in which they believe. Thinking differently and having the freedom to do so is what makes this country great.
My stance is unequivocally MAGA. Because I know in my heart, mind, body and soul that President Trump will make America great again. God bless the USA.”

It’s a little surprising to hear Kid Rock praise Taylor Swift, because he hasn’t always had such nice things to say about her. Back in 2019, he came under fire for tweeting that Swift was a Democrat because she wanted to be in Hollywood – and that she would “suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there.”
Taylor Swift wants to be a democrat because she wants to be in movies….period. And it looks like she will suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there. Oldest move in the book. Good luck girl.

But regardless, Eminem appreciated the kind words from his old friend and fellow Michigander. After Kid Rock posted his video, Eminem tweeted that he “appreciates” his ol’ friend Bob, pointing out that they can at least still agree on their support for the Detroit Lions.
And Kid Rock responded at the irony that it was “two white rappers from Detroit” who were showing our country that it’s still possible to get along with someone you disagree with.
Thanks @Eminem – Who would of thought it would be 2 white rappers from Detroit / Michigan to show our divided Country what class is and how it should be done! Appreciate ya too Marshall!

Of course that seems to be harder and harder for people to do this days, especially as we get closer to the election and the two sides ramp up their rhetoric against each other.
But believe it or not, it’s possible to be friends with someone from the opposite side of the aisle. I think most normal people would agree with that – despite what the media and those who are chronically online would tell us.
