It’s good… but it will never be “I’m A Survivor.”

Reba is gearing up to launch her new sitcom Happy’s Place next Friday, October 18th, which will be different than her beloved show from the 2000’s Reba (in which she played a fictitious version of herself), but it will share some similarities.

The biggest similarity will be that Happy’s Place will feature a reunion of former Reba co-stars in McEntire and Melissa Peterman. The incomparable “Barbra Jean” could not have been played by anyone else on the classic 2000’s TV show, and now Peterman will bring her patented energy to what I’m sure will become another iconic role alongside Reba in the new sitcom.

While Reba is set to play a character named Bobbie who inherits a family restaurant and finds out she has a half-sister (Belissa Escobedo), Melissa will reportedly play a “needy and dramatic” character named Gabby who works at the inherited restaurant. Sounds like “Barbra Jean 2.0” to me, and I’m perfectly fine with that. I’m sure everyone else will be too.

As far as I’m concerned, Reba remains a classic to this day and one of the best sitcoms ever made, and I can’t wait to see Reba back on my TV screen again.

And of course, as iconic as the show itself was the theme song, which was first released in 2001 and then later altered some to fit the show. It’s a banger, but today, Reba released the new theme song for Happy’s Place, which is named after the show.

It was written by Reba along with Carole King, and she says she hopes fans love this one as much as the one from her original show:

“I’m so happy for the opportunity to write the theme song for ‘Happy’s Place’ with my good friend, Carole King. It just doesn’t get much better than that! I hope my fans will love this song as much as they did the theme song for the ‘Reba’ show.”

It’s definitely catchy, and I know they obviously needed a new theme song, but the original will always hold a special place in mu heart.

The country legend will executive produce alongside her former Reba executive producer’s Kevin Abbott, Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis. Julie Abbott will also executive produce.
