Busy week for the Brooks family, eh?
Country music star Trisha Yearwood has officially parted ways with their storybook Tennessee home for a cool $3.34 million. The home, located in Brentwood, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville served as the set for over a hundred episodes of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen and is the definition of a picture-perfect country mansion.
The sale of the house was finalized one day before news broke of the lawsuit filed against her husband Garth Brooks by a former makeup artist, claiming that he sexually assaulted her and raped her. Real Estate records show the home was officially sold on October 2nd, one day before this lawsuit became public knowledge.
And despite the unfortunate timing, since the home was listed for sale back in 2023, it’s quite a stretch to assume that the sale has anything to do with Brooks’ legal troubles.
Also, based on Brooks’ statement via his publicist, he knew this was coming as he filed a lawsuit in Mississippi the month prior.
“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face.
Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of – ugly acts no human should ever do to another.
We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides.”
NEW: In a statement from his publicist, Garth Brooks maintains his innocence and claims he has been extorted and defamed by his accuser.
“I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be,” he says.

The home was originally purchased by Yearwood in 2000 (she married Garth in 2005) and listed on the market for $2,200,000 in 2014. It was listed again in 2023 with an asking price of $4.5 million. However, the lowered the price two times before closing at $3.34 million this week.
Last year she told People she just couldn’t part with it when she married Garth Brooks:
“When I bought this house in 2000, I was looking for a place that would be my sanctuary. The minute I stepped foot inside, I knew this was the place. Even when I moved to Oklahoma, I just couldn’t part with this house. Garth and I would make the house home base when we were in Nashville working on music or visiting friends.”
Garth and Trisha moved back to Nashville in 2014, and the home has since been a studio for her cooking show, and a place to hold family gatherings, holiday parties, pool parties and more.
The property listing described it as an “extraordinary historic estate,” spanning over 4.42 acres of private grounds and features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Interestingly, one of the amenities the couple chose to highlight when listing the home was the state-of-the-art security system, with two gated entrances and nine surveillance cameras scattered across the property. Although not listed, one can only assume an alarm system is installed in the house. Not surprising given the fact that both Garth and Trisha are incredibly famous.
