It’s still early. She’s already outlasted the 15 minutes of fame many expected for her. Who knows if any of this is sustainable.
However, you can’t help but be impressed with Hawk Tuah Girl Haliey Welch, simply for having a podcast that is doing numbers on par with Joe Rogan.

What I do know is Haliey Welch continues to defy the odds and remain relevant. A seemingly innocuous first pitch for the New York Mets about a month and a half ago was met with widespread vitriol.
Welch talked about the blowback from her Mets mound cameo — and underscored the fact that the team has actually gone on a tear since losing that day, soaring from a 62-59 record to 88-71 and right in the mix for a National League Wild Card berth.

It’s almost like Welch is happy-accident stumbling into stuff like this, but hey, good work if you can get it.
Turns out Welch had rather noble intentions for repping the Mets for that first pitch. That was more a means to an end for her animal advocacy work. Welch explains how she donated to the Mets-sponsored program for “vet dogs” as she puts it. Nothing wrong with putting out some good in the world by way of dogs in my book. Whatever your reservations are about her fame or how it came about, Welch is walking the walk when it comes to these charitable endeavors.

Yeah. Just in case you were curious as to what Welch has been up to when she ain’t saving the pups.
The only real baseball pun-intended error Welch might’ve made as it pertains to this particular piece of her ever-expanding story is her X/Twitter caption, “I’m ready for the postseason.” Since her friend was the one who brought up the Mets’ Hawk Tuah hot streak, maybe Welch didn’t realize that the team hasn’t qualified for the playoffs just yet. New York is fighting the Braves and Diamondbacks for one of the last two spots.
Can the Mets and Welch keep their improbable runs going? We’ll all find out together soon enough.
