The wait is almost over…
“Casamigos” is dropping THIS Friday.
Koe Wetzel announced on Instagram today that “Casamigos,” an unreleased fan-favorite that was initially on the tracklist for his recent 9 Lives album, will be out everywhere on Friday, September 13th. And by the looks of the photos in the post, it seems as though there might be an accompanying music video too:
“Casamigos” has taken on a life of its own with the fans, and many were upset when it was replaced on the tracklist for Koe’s cover of the late rapper XXXTENTACION’s “Depression & Obsession.”
He had already shared a studio teaser that they fell in love with, so I’m sure everyone will be excited to finally have and hear the full song. I suspect there might of been some sort of licensing or legal issue they had to get sorted out with the title, but who knows…
I loved the sound of “Casamigos” even in the first short teaser Koe shared (I’ve also heard the studio cut, and I think it will put up massive streaming numbers once it’s out), and fans are clearly taking to it already which is a good sign.
Of course, most artists can only hope that fans want to hear their songs as badly as Koe’s fans do in this particular case, so expect this to become another fast fan-favorite, which it pretty much already is, and I know I’ll certainly have it on repeat.

Koe has also been playing at the first few shows on his Damn Near Normal world tour:
