A new one from the hot duo.
Ella Langley and Riley Green might as well do a collaborative EP if they are going to keep on this roll of duets. Since the release of “You Look Like You Love Me,” country music listeners have not been able to get enough of this duo. And since the two are on tour together, they are able to hit the stage frequently to perform the hit single.
At a recent show, the two walked out on stage together, and fans began to grow excitedly, thinking they would perform their duet. However, Riley Green surprised fans, telling them they would perform a new one.
“I know what y’all are thinking. But if y’all don’t mind, me and Ella have been on tour together, and I’m obviously a big fan of her and her music. We’ve got a big song together, and some of y’all may have heard that one. But we also have another song that we haven’t played in front of anybody before.
We are thinking about playing it in front of y’all tonight. If ya’ll don’t mind…
So wish us luck here, and if we mess it up, just don’t post it, I guess. This is a song I wrote called ‘Don’t Mind If I Do.'”
Riley Green pilots the melody as he sings of an ended relationship that he often thinks of. While most would like to close that chapter and move on, the narrator of the song enjoys numbing himself with alcohol and missing her while in that state. The chorus notes that he might show up at her house and beg for the relationship to work out again, hoping his ex will “Don’t Mind If I Do.”

I might still love you,
Hope you don’t mind if I do…”
After the second chorus, Langley leads the verse, singing from the woman’s point of view. While the man is brokenhearted, thinking the woman has moved on, she feels the same way. She doesn’t mind when he shows up at her house because she wants to see him again.
The unreleased ditty is a change of pace from the romance song “You Look Like You Love Me,” but I can’t get enough of it. This performance might have been a little rough around the edges as it was their first time performing it live, but the track’s subject matter is captivating.
I hope we get this duet from these two soon. They might as well keep riding the wave created by “You Look Like You Love Me.”
