Misread the room.
Zach Bryan recently wrapped up his massive Quittin’ Time tour, which saw the country music superstar selling out massive stadiums all around the country.
He also recently celebrated his first #1 single, “Something In The Orange,” reaching 1 BILLION streams on Spotify, becoming one of only six country songs to reach the billion mark on the streaming platform.

So it was a little weird that he left the “Something In The Orange,” which was included on his album American Heartbreak, off the setlist for many of the shows on his most recent tour.
I mean, imagine Chris Stapleton not playing “Tennessee Whiskey,” or Garth Brooks not playing “Friends In Low Places.” Some songs you just gotta play.
Fans obviously let Zach hear it when they…well, didn’t hear it. And as he’s reflecting back on the tour, Zach admits that it may have been a mistake to leave that one off the setlist.
Now, his reasoning was pretty solid: The artist revealed that he didn’t want to include both “I Remember Everything” and “Something In The Orange” because he didn’t want the setlist to have “too many bummers.” But I feel like if there’s any audience that’s going to be ok with one more sad song, it’s Zach Bryan’s. Especially when both of those sad songs are your biggest hits to date.
But regardless, Zach admits that he may have misread the room by not including both of them:
“Kind of misread it this year!
Didn’t want to put I remember everything and SITO in the same sets because I thought it would be too many bummers for one night but I think I was wrong. Sorry to anyone who missed it. I’ll prolly regret it for a little bit but letting go and moving on soon enough.”

Then again, there are quite a few artists out there who don’t play some of their biggest hits. Tyler Childers doesn’t play “Feathered Indians” anymore, and he only recently added “Whitehouse Road” back into his setlist.
Ultimately, fans will get over not hearing one song during an incredible show.
But I have a feeling the next time Zach hits the road, fans can count on hearing “Something In the Orange.”
