The Kansas City Chiefs are gunning for a Super Bowl three-peat, and it looks like the chemistry between Patrick Mahomes and his newest weapon is already cooking.
As if Mahomes dragging the Chiefs to two straight ‘chips with a rather no-name receiving corps wasn’t a scary enough thought for the rest of the NFL, GM Brett Veach f****d around and drafted the fastest man in the history of the Combine, Xavier Worthy.
Not since Tyreek Hill has Kansas City had a game-changing deep threat in the passing game. Although Worthy tipped the scales at only 165 pounds in Indy, that record-setting 4.21 40 speed is on full display.

This sort of downfield connection is not what any other NFL fan base wants to see. In addition to Worthy, the Chiefs signed Marquise “Hollywood” Brown in free agency. He once ran a 4.27-second 40 at Oklahoma’s pro day. Safe to say Travis Kelce should have a little more room to operate underneath. Then, as long as Rashee Rice can stop being a moron off the field, Mahomes should have four very viable pass-catchers to distribute the ball to.
The way Mahomes can contort his body, and get enough torque and mustard on a throw of 50+ yards, will never not be ridiculous. Almost as impressive is how well Worthy tracked that rocket to come down with it in the end zone. It was very evident even in college how good Worthy’s ball skills are. He has a knack for over-the-shoulder catches, that’s for sure.

Even though it’s no fun for the rest of us non-Chiefs supporters to see them win at such a relentless rate, with that comes immense expectations. Kansas City’s season will be a disappointment with anything other than a Lombardi Trophy. Good problems to have.
Above all else, this Mahomes-Worthy footage is a refreshing reminder that football season is quickly approaching. We’re almost there, folks. Training camps are opening up all over the league, and the dog days of summer are nearly at an end.
