Ram Helps Itself To A Drink From Outdoor Water Faucet

Animals are evolving.

I’ll pump the brakes before I stir up an argument around the theory of evolution. I’m just trying to say that animals, at least some of them, are realizing they can take advantage of some of the modern day amenities we humans enjoy. If they are just there out in the open, who are we to stop animals from utilizing them too?

This video below shows an intelligent ram waltzing up to an outdoor water faucet at a campground and turning it on. Judging by the animal’s understanding and grasp of how the water faucet works, I’d guess this ram has done this at least a hundred times before. Somehow it figured out that messing with the spout could result in unlimited, clean water source, and it appears to keep “going back to the well,” so to speak.

In all honestly, it’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. This ram is a smooth operator. The only thing that would have been cooler than doing what it did is if it walked up to a bottle of beer and cracked it open using its horns. Too much of a stretch? Okay, sorry, never mind…

Not only did the ram get some water for itself, it also helped some others that were looking for H20. Sharing the wealth is pretty noble, considering a lot of animals tend to be self-focused. The guy that witnessed it all and captured the unbelievable moment on video shared this message along with the clip he posted of the ram tapping into its personal watering hole:

“It was 8:00 P.M. and 1o0 degrees (outside) as I watched this ram come down out of the rocks into the campground. He disappeared behind some bushes and I heard water running. When I got a clear view, I couldn’t believe my eyes.

This ram was able to manipulate the spring loaded valve to turn on the water. Two other rams joined him and he repeatedly turned the water on and off till they drank their fill. Lasted a good 10 minutes.”
