“GET HIM!” – Moose Charges Tourist As Bystander Roots For The Wildlife To Win At Yellowstone National Park

This is the definition of “play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”

Before we get too far into the video though, what does it say about the human condition that we see a video of a wild animal attacking a human and we root for the wild animal? Is it the fact that we like to see people get what they had coming? Or what?

That seems to be the case most of the time. There are countless videos of people getting way too close to animals out in nature, and there is a plethora of social media accounts dedicated to incidents like that going wrong. If you don’t follow “Tourons of Yellowstone,” make sure you give them a follow before you leave this story.

They do a great job of highlighting idiotic people visiting national parks (hence the name “Touron”), and though they’re goal is to educate people through these what-not-to-do videos, somehow people keep doing dumber and dumber stuff. And most of the time, it revolves around a person wanting to get closer to an animal in order to get a better picture of it.

These types of videos are like clockwork. Person gets out of their car to approach animal (ignoring the 25-yard buffer zone set by the National Park Service), animal gets aggravated, and then wild animal attacks. That’s pretty much exactly what happened in this footage when a massive moose charged a tourist trying to snap a picture. Hope it was worth it…

The clip is shot from far away (where the people getting attacked should have been) and also includes some commentary from someone inside the vehicle. It probably wasn’t the best thing to say, but as the moose charged at the man, one person can be heard in the background yelling:

“GET HIM!”

Pretty wild how apparent and open that guy was about who he was rooting for. He was team moose all the way… and I wonder how he would have felt if the moose really would have done some damage.

Luckily, the moose pulled up and left the people alone. I suppose it just gave all of those people who got too close a scare, and hopefully that will teach them their lesson. If it doesn’t, they should watch this video and read the comments below to see that almost everyone was rooting for the moose to take them down:

“I hear someone saying ‘get ‘em’ and I’m cracking up.”

“Don’t play around with moose, they will make sure it’s the last thing you ever do.”

“Love the dude rooting for the moose.”

“The commentary really made my day – I’d be saying the same thing.”

“The park needs to start arresting and banning these fools- start limiting entrance.”

They’ll either do that, or let nature take its course…
