An immediate crossover hit.
Post Malone and Morgan Wallen released their highly-anticipated collaboration “I Had Some Help” a little over a week ago, and it immediately shot to the top of the iTunes charts and broke the Spotify record for the most single-day streams for a country song.
And today, Billboard announced that the single debuted at #1 on the Hot 100 chart, which which encompasses all musical genres and marks the sixth #1 Hot 100 hit for Posty and the second for Morgan (“Last Night” was his first).
Written by Post Malone (who is listed by his real name, Austin Post, in the credits), along with country hitmakers Morgan Wallen, Ryan Vojtesak and Ernest along with Louis Bell and Hoskins, it’s not exactly that Tyler Childers-esque country song I was hoping for, but super catchy nonetheless.
And clearly, fans are loving hearing two of the biggest artists in music team up together, and of course, a little bit of Posty’s more country side:

“I Had Some Help” also surpassed Posty’s collab with Taylor Swift called “Fortnight” for the biggest US unit sales debut week for any song in 2024 so far, with over 630K sold, which is just an astonishing number that will only continue to grow:

Already sitting at #9 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, it should also be a #1 hit at country radio here very, very soon and stands to have the fastest climb for a single at country radio in nearly 20 years. Calling it a mega hit doesn’t even feel like it comes close to describing how big this song already is and will be.
In addition, the duo dropped a music video for their mega hit, which was filmed at the Joshua Tree Saloon in California and finds Post in a phone booth (what a throwback there) talking to his girl on the phone who is obviously upset with him… he seems to get over the fight pretty quickly and has some fun with the locals, drinking beer and partying with Morgan.
If you somehow haven’t heard the song or seen the video yet, I’ll leave this here:
