I’d say it’s the duo we never knew we needed, but let’s be honest… we’ve been waiting on this for a while now.

Evan Honer and Wyatt Flores are two of the most promising young acts in the genre right now, and it just so happens that the two up and comers have become close friends as they both try to navigate the music industry at the same time. And due to their frequent interactions on social media, fans have been wanting a collaboration between the two for quite some time.

Well, that collaboration is finally here, and it’s even better than imagined.

Titled “Take Me As I Come,” Evan Honer’s latest single featuring close friend and rising superstar Wyatt Flores is a vulnerable, self-aware ballad with clever lyricism and tasteful harmonies between Honer and Flores.

Check the song out for yourself here:

For those of you who may not be familiar, Honer is an Arizona-raised, Nashville-based artist whose first official release, and most streamed to date, came in December 2022 as he dropped a cover of Tyler Childers’ unreleased yet oft-covered fan favorite “Jersey Giant” alongside Julia DiGrazia. The debut cover quickly became a streaming powerhouse, now with more than 47 million Spotify streams just over a year later. And with his innate songwriting ability and deft lyricism, Honer has maintained the impressive momentum set forth by this cover with the release of nearly 20 more songs in 2023, the vast majority of which being originals.

A clever songwriter who frequently conveys messages and themes in his music that are wise beyond his years, the young artist, who also spent his college years in California, has already proved that he is more than capable when it comes to creating great original music. Despite the nascency of his career, there is plenty of proof in his growing catalog, especially in the 11 tracks on his debut record West on I-10 which dropped back in April. Here are a couple must-listens from Honer’s debut project, as well as the aforementioned “Jersey Giant” cover:

“Too Far Gone”

“You’d Never Know”

And here are a couple more recent ones from Wyatt Flores, a prolific songwriter and music-releaser in his own right, who has been on an astronomical rise over the past couple of years.

“Wish I Could Stay”

“Milwaukee”
