A new tour and new music.

Zach Bryan kicked off his highly anticipated 2024 Quittin’ Time Tour at Chicago’s United Center last night, and in addition to bringing out Kacey Musgraves to sing “I Remember Everything,” he debuted a brand new song for fans called “The Great American Bar Scene.”

I feel like it’s been a long time coming, as Zach will often post pictures on his Instagram stories and feed using the line “the great American bar scene” as a caption, and though I don’t currently have any proof of that at the moment (he’s taken down his social media accounts), if you’ve followed him for any length of time, you’ve definitely seen it. He’s teased snippets of the song here and there, but last night in Chicago, Zach treated fans to a debut live performance.

This new song has some gorgeous fiddle and steel, as Zach tells the story of how hanging out in bars and getting into trouble can obviously go bad very quickly:

“I tried like hell,
To keep my heath,
Treat others well,
And understand why life’s not fair,
Uncertain and mean,
In the great American bar scene”

It’s unclear whether or not Zach plans to officially release it anytime soon, but he tends to kind of just drop things with little to no warning, so it’s hard to say if and when this one might be dropping. He did promise it on the next record, however, so it might just be a matter of time.

You can watch him perform the entire song in the video below:

And while this duet is unlikely to happen much again on this tour (if at all), I’ll leave you with Zach and Kacey bringin’ the house down…
