Lukas Nelson & POTR don’t miss.
The band appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday evening to perform “Sticks and Stones,” the title track from their stellar 2023 album.
A solo write by Lukas, this one definitely has a bit more of that rock-leaning production we’re used to hearing from them when compared to some of the other more decidedly “country” songs on the album, but it’s super fun to hear at a live show and obviously a great choice for late-night TV.
Lukas & POTR put out their first album Promise of the Real in December of 2010, and have been continually releasing incredible music while touring their asses off for over a decade now. Lukas is the son of country icon Willie Nelson, and let’s just say, he comes by his natural talent and way with words very honestly.
As a longtime fan of theirs, it’s really cool seeing them get national attention like this as they’re being introduced to an entirely new, massive audience, which is all you can really ask for. You’d be hard-pressed to find more quality, authentic music and for me, they’re some of the best in the business at the moment.
If you haven’t seen them in concert before, they’re easily one of my favorite live bands and put on a helluva show, so I’d definitely put them on your “must-see” list for 2024.
