HARDY is gearing up to drop a rock album.

The country writer, and now artist, has been gearing up to this for quite some time, and after releasing his half country, half rock album the mockingbird & THE CROW last year, this seems like a natural progression.

He’s been very open about the fact that he’s been influenced equally by the two genres, and in a video posted to his social media accounts today, Hardy announced that the rock record will be released on his label Big Loud’s rock imprint… so yeah, he’s going all in here.

While he didn’t give too many details away, Hardy said the record will be out before his tour kicks off this summer, and a new single “ROCKSTAR” is coming out this Friday:

“It’s Hardy here, and I just wanted to let you guys know that I have a song coming out called ‘ROCKSTAR.’

It’s coming out on February 9th, it is my next rock single and it is gonna be a part of my, I’m so excited to finally say this, I’m putting out a rock record that’s gonna be out before the tour starts. It’s badass and I’m so excited for y’all to hear it.”

The single cover (and potentially album cover), features Hardy dressed up as rock star’s who have seemingly influenced his sound, including KISS frontman Paul Stanley, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, Hardy as himself, and several others you can see below:

As someone who is also a big fan of those artists and the rock genre in general, I’m certainly intrigued to see what Hardy has come up with and how his very country writing style will translate in this way.

I think he’s super talented as a writer, and I’m willing to give this a chance and find it exciting to see how it will all work and sound.

Hardy previously released the lead single “QUIT!!” in January, and his headlining Quit!! Tour kicks off at the end of May in Rogers, Arkansas and runs through July ending in Tinley Park, Illinois.
