Paying tribute to the late, great Glen Campbell.

Announced today, a tribute album of sorts is on the way to honor the country legend, officially titled GLEN CAMPBELL DUETS – Ghost on the Canvas Sessions.

Due out everywhere on April 19th, the record reimagines his 2011 farewell album with some of the biggest names in music. The songs will blend Campbell’s original vocals with artists like Dolly Parton and Eric Church for 12 posthumous duets.

In addition, outside of the country world, Elton John, Brian Wilson, Carole King, Hope Sandoval, Linda Perry, Sting and Brian Setzer are also featured artists on the project.

And not only are those big names on vocals, but Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Chris Issak, Wendy Melvoin (Prince and the Revolution), Rick Neilsen (Cheap Trick), Steve Hunter (Lou Reed), The Dandy Warhols, Chris Chaney, Jason Faulkner Jr., Kim Bullard, Josh Freese (The Foo Fighters), Vinny Caliuta, Marti Rifkin, Dick Dale and Tim Pierce contributed with their musical talents, which is really damn cool.

It’s a top-notch crew contributing to a really cool project, which Eric says was “really special” to be part of in terms of highlighting Campbell’s important contributions to music as a whole:

“It was really special to me to be able to be part of this project. Glen was so important to not just Country music, but all of music. What a stallion!”

His duet of “Hold On Hope” is out everywhere now:

Eric Clapton’s duet of “Nothing But The Whole Wide World” is out now too:
