Two powerhouses in country music.

Wynonna Judd and Trisha Yearwood arguably have two of the most recognizable female voices in the country. Their decades-spanning careers have made them icons, as they both have pushed barriers throughout their years in the industry.

And now they’ve teamed up for a brand new version of a Judds classic, “Cry Myself to Sleep.”

Wynonna spoke on the honor of being able to re-record the track with Trisha:

“I was absolutely delighted when Trisha showed up at the studio on the farm to record ‘Cry Myself To Sleep’ with me. We have known each other for years but have never worked together.

In today’s world of technology, artists often don’t get to be in the same room as the other person to record a song. It was so refreshing! I am thrilled with the song, and I cannot wait to sing it live with her.”

“Cry Myself To Sleep” appeared on The Judd’s 1986 album Rockin’ With The Rhythm. The track was released as the fourth single off the best-selling album, ultimately becoming the duo’s eighth #1 hit.

The song was written by Paul Kennerly, lived on the charts for a total of sixteen weeks, and became a staple song during the ’80s country music.

The reimagined version was produced by Wynonna’s husband, Cactus Moser, who plays drums in her band, and will appear on A Tribute To The Judds slated for an October 27th release.

While the album celebrates the 40th anniversary of the duo, it also celebrates the life of Naomi Judd after her tragic passing last year. After her mother’s death, the country music community rallied around Wynonna as she embarked on a tour where she should have been sharing the stage with Naomi.

Once again, the community lifts up Wynonna, having a star-studded lineup appearing on the album, and no better person to kick it off than Trisha Yearwood.

“Getting to be a part of celebrating Judd’s music is such an honor. I’m a true fan, and singing with Wynonna has been a dream come true!

I’m proud to be a part of honoring the music that Naomi and Wynonna created.”

After listening to this rocking track, I am very excited to see what else Wynonna has in store for the album’s release next month.

I am sure Naomi is smiling down while blaring this track. Turn it all the way up.
