Are Marcus and Briley King on the path to becoming the next Chris and Morgane Stapleton?
Maybe not in the sense of comparing their sounds, but when these married couples take the stage together, it is magical.
This past weekend at Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Fest in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Briley joined her husband on stage for a killer version of “Goodbye Carolina.”
While this song is a fan favorite among Marcus King listeners, and he often closes out the show with the 2019 hit, adding Briley’s vocals elevates the song even more. She supports Marcus throughout the harmonies, and their vocals blend effortlessly.
She flashes him a sweet smile before getting back in the zone to finish the line:
She also resembles Morgane in how she plays the tambourine during the song.
I need these two to hit the studio ASAP together… their soulful voices together are immaculate, and their unique styles give this couple the ultimate stage presence.
This is not the first time that Briley has joined Marcus on stage.
She has graced the stage of the Grand Ole Opry with Marcus to cover John Fogerty’s “Joy Of My Life,” (which was more recently recorded by Chris Stapleton). Another fitting parallel noting this couple is headed down the same musical path.
She also teased a single that Marcus has yet to release called “Oh, My Delilah.” Marcus has been playing it out on the road, and let me tell you, once it is released, we are all in for a treat.
