Spoiler alert: You’re not fooling anybody.
For those who don’t know (probably because you’re not on social media, because that’s the only way you wouldn’t be familiar with Livvy at this point), Olivia Dunne is a member of the LSU gymnastics team who’s managed to rack up over 7.5 million TikTok followers, and turn her social media stardom into millions of dollars of NIL and licensing deals – despite the fact that she’s only 20 years old.
Livvy was also recently featured as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, which the college student admits has gotten her a lot more male attention lately.
In an interview on the Full Send Podcast, Livvy talked about male fans approaching her:
“Ever since I did Sports Illustrated too, there’s like 12-year-olds and then like, their dads, which is like, I mean it kinda comes with what I do.”
I mean, gotta think it’s kinda weird for a 20-year old to have all these dads coming over and asking for your autograph…
In fact one video recently went viral when an older man was caught on live TV asking for Livvy’s autograph at the College World Series:
Come on dude, you’re old enough to be her grandpa…
And while Livvy says that these men always have some excuse for asking for her autograph, it sounds like she understands what they’re really doing:
“Usually whenever people come up to me and they’re older they say it’s for like their daughter’s friend’s sister’s brother’s dog.”
But Livvy says she knew what she was getting into when she went to the College World Series:
“I knew going to the College World Series that going to an event like that, I knew what I was getting myself into. Whenever I go to like Yankees games or things like that, that’s like THE demographic that approaches me usually whenever I’m just like, on the streets.
But yeah, I knew what I was getting myself into.”
On the flip side though, Livvy says that female fans are usually more nervous and less willing to come up to her on the streets:
“I love meeting the female fans. They’re a little more reserved, they usually don’t come up to me as much as the guys. Or at least they’re a little more nervous to.
I love meeting all my fans, but especially the girls. They’re always so sweet.
Some of the guys, they’re a lot more forward so they’ll come up to me like, ‘LIVVY!’ But the girls are more chill, they’re kinda nervous.”
I can’t imagine some of the stuff she has to deal with, like the creepy old men hitting on a 20-year old college girl…
But like she said, I guess it just comes with the territory these days.
