Good luck finding a bear cooler than this one.
A couple ventured over to the Olympic Game Farm just outside of Seattle to see the world famous Waving Bear, and found out that waving wasn’t the only thing these big bears were good at.
In the video, the vehicle pulls up to the side of the bear exhibit, with the bear looking like it had done something like this a time or two before. The (chunky) brown bear plops down on its rear end, sitting up like a human, preparing to put on a show.
And that it did, because as it sat there smiling (this bear is definitely grinning), it effortlessly caught pieces of bread that were thrown in a frisbee-like fashion towards it. Sometimes it caught it with its mouth, while other times it stuck its big bear paws up and snatched it out of the air like an NFL tight end.
This is truly one of the best one minute videos you will ever see. Once the bear gets one of the pieces of bread down, it gestures to those in the car to keep them coming. Some of the catches are remarkable, and the bread throwers in the car love every second of it.
Each time the bear pulls off the catch, they clap and cheer like this wildlife interaction is the best thing that has ever happened to them. And it might be safe to say that it is, because the YouTube poster put in the caption that it was “one of the happiest moments of my life.”
Hell yeah it was. What other time have you ever gotten to frisbee bread to a bear and watch it show out like it’s catching baseballs behind home plate?
Unfortunately, I think this is pretty close to what I look like when I get the attention of the guy selling peanuts at professional baseball games. Just me sitting there, poor posture, waving him down and showing off my limited athleticism as the bag of peanuts is launched my direction.
Clearly this was a mutually beneficial relationship between the bear and people in the car. That is the happiest looking bear I have ever seen, and I’m not sure the human race has had this much fun with a loaf of bread in the history of mankind.
When they run out of bread to throw (they missed a couple of times, but it landed near the bear, so it will get it later), they waved good bye to the bear, and the bear waves back. It was either a wave, or a motion for them to get out of the way so the next car full of bread-throwers could have their turn.
The video will certainly bring a smile to your face. Watch the impressive, bread-catching bear below:
