Every single Luke Grimes has released so far has been solid.

And today, he’s back with another new tune called “Playin’ On The Tracks,” which was co-written by Luke along with the great Brent Cobb, and produced by Dave Cobb, which is essentially the dream team for a brand new artist.

Luke says the song came from the first time he and Brent sat down to write together, and they hit it off immediately:

“This song was my first co-write with the very talented Bent Cobb and I realized pretty quickly that he was going to be a big part of my musical journey.

With ‘Playin’ On The Tracks,’ it started with a mood. We were trying to capture the outlaw spirit of a sort of rambler.

Once we got going it sort of fell out. I love the shoot from the hip attitude of this song.”

Of course, you probably recognize Luke’s name as he plays Kayce Dutton in the hit Paramount series Yellowstone, but he’s gearing up to make his country debut with a full-length album sometime this year.

He previously noted legends like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson as musical inspirations, and he has released three other singles from his forthcoming (yet still unofficially announced) record so far, including “No Horse To Ride,” “Oh Ohio,” and “Hold On.”

Luke is slated to play some of the best festivals within the country music circuit this year, including Pilgrimage Festival, Under The Big Sky Festival, Greenville Country Music Fest and quite a few more. He also made his Stagecoach debut a few weeks back.

Hopefully, we’ll have a release date for the full project sooner rather than later, but until then, go ahead and check out “Playin’ On The Tracks”:
