Morgan Wallen’s ‘One Thing At A Time’ Is On A Chart Run That Rivals Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, & The ‘Titanic’ Soundtrack

Morgan Wallen is in some pretty good company with his latest album One Thing At A Time.

The project, which released back in March of this year as Wallen’s third studio album, just notched its 11th straight week at #1 on the Billboard 200 charts.

It joins Whitney Houston’s 1987 album Whitney (which featured “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “So Emotional”) and Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life in 1976 (which included “Isn’t She Lovely” and “I Wish”) on the list of albums to reach 11 straight consecutive weeks at the number one spot.

The newest Morgan Wallen project also marks the first country album to reach the “11 weeks” threshold since Taylor Swift’s Fearless in 2008.

One Thing At A Time‘s album charting success has three songs to thank in particular. “You Proof,” “Thought You Should Know,” and “Last Night” have all spent significant time at the number one hit spot.

The song “You Proof” actually stayed at the top of the charts for 10 weeks, making it the longest period a song has held the number one spot in country radio history.

Morgan Wallen was humbled by the news of his album’s performance on the Billboard charts, saying:

“These stats are all so humbling and being mentioned in the same sentence as Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston is something I never could have imagined.

But I’m most grateful to everyone who listens to my music. That’s the connection that means the most to me and it’s the best compliment out there – the fact that you guys like it.”

The ACM Male Artist of the Year is no stranger to his albums having staying power.

His 2021 project Dangerous: The Double Album recently notched its 120th non-consecutive week in the Billboard 200 Top 10 list. The impressive run is only second to the original cast recording of My Fair Lady in 1956, which stands at 173 weeks.

The 5-time platinum project that acted as his sophomore album has far surpassed records that were previously held by Bruce Springsteen and Adele.

Anywhere you look on the charts, Wallen continues to impress, and he plans to continue his chart topping success for a long time into his country music career.
