It’s no secret that there’s been a lot of noise surrounding the show Yellowstone over the past few months, and Kevin Costner in particular.
It all started when the rumor broke that Kevin Costner could be exiting the show, after he allegedly only wanted one week to film the second half of season five due to his busy schedule.
However, Costner’s attorney Marty Singer has denied these rumors, and told Puck News:
“The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie. It’s ridiculous, and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second.
As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”
And recently, it was reported that Costner wasn’t happy with the direction Taylor Sheridan was taking the show, as he believes Sheridan had began to turn away from the original vision.
Regardless of what the real reason was, we now know that Yellowstone will be coming to an end after season five, and Costner will not be returning to the saga after the conclusion.
But in other shocking Costner news, it was recently reported that the famed actor’s wife, Christine Baumgartner, was filing for divorce after 18 years of marriage.
The move reportedly caught Costner completely off guard, as one of his friends told Page Six:
“Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he obviously doesn’t want the divorce and he would take her back.
It’s disappointing, he loves her and he loves his children.”
But now know have more details about what may have led to Baumgartner’s move.
According to People, a source close to Baumgartner says that Costner’s busy schedule has been weighing on her:
“Christine wants them to spend family time at their Santa Barbara home. During filming, Kevin is not around very much. His absence has been very hard for her.
Christine doesn’t want him to throw himself into another project. He has been obsessed with filming Horizon since last year. She wasn’t happy about it.”
Another source told the outlet:
“Kevin hasn’t been home very much for quite some time due to filming, the popularity of Yellowstone, and the time necessary for his other projects. He has been in demand.
All of this success and excitement over the new project probably took his attention away from his family more than he realized. Since it didn’t look like that would change and likely could get worse, it caused tension at home.”
Sounds like the grind and popularity of Yellowstone just got to be too much for Costner’s wife to handle.
