Margo Price & Sierra Ferrell Reimagine Acoustic Version Of Price’s “Change Of Heart”

It’s no secret that I am a Sierra Ferrell junkie and have been itching to hear some new music from her.

But the collaboration between Margo Price and Sierra Ferrell was not on my bingo card for the year… in the best way possible.

Margo Price paved the way for many women in country music by being unapologetically her, and staying true to her folk-rock sound. In her most recent studio album, Strays, Price told a psychedelic story through creative lyrics and intoxicating melodies.

One of her first singles after she announced this album was “Change of Heart,” making it very fitting that she chose it as one of the first to re-work in a stripped-down fashion.

There is no better female artist to accompany her on this acoustic duet than the extremely talented Sierra Ferrell.

Price shared about the collaboration:

“I’m real excited to share this stripped-down take on ‘Change of Heart’ featuring Sierra Ferrell. Sierra is one of my favorite new voices in music, and I loved getting to work with her on this acoustic version of the song.

I love to lift up other women in the genre when I see somebody putting out great art. In an industry that tries to drive us apart, it’s freeing to break down those barriers and say, ‘there is room for everyone.’

Thanks also to the co-writer of the song, my husband, Jeremy Ivey, on acoustic guitar, and the talented Billy Contreras on the fiddle.”

This sounds dramatic, but I believe I could listen to these two’s vocals all day from here on out. They just complement each other so perfectly.

The melody of a guitar and fiddle lets the lyrical story shine, and their unreal harmonies sit and marinate with you.

Price also shared on her Instagram that she is headed to Austin, TX, to tape for Austin City Limits, speak at SXSW, and then make a final stop at Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion.

“Blame it on my wild heart, me and these Strays have already traveled 10,696 miles this year and we’re just getting started!

The band and I are headed Austin, Texas this Saturday, March 19th for a live taping on ACL at The Moody Theater. I’ll also be speaking at SXSW on Friday followed by a set out on Willie Nelson’s Ranch for Luck Reunion. See y’all soon.”

I expect her Austin City Limits set to be authentic and filled with the Margo Price flare we all love.
