Eagles Coach Nick Sirianni Isn’t Amused By “Is Sunday A Must Win?” Troll Question Ahead Of Super Bowl

Nick Sirianni

Super Bowl week is officially here, the most bittersweet time of the year…

Because that means we have to wait until August to enjoy college football and the NFL again.

Of course, we have the USFL and the XFL kicking off here shortly, but needless to say, it just ain’t the same.

But speaking of the Super Bowl, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that this is the biggest game of the year, the big enchilada… for all the marbles.

The winning team will be remembered forever, while the runner up will be forgotten about.

As Ricky Bobby once said:

“If ya ain’t first, yer last.”

And that statement couldn’t be more true this week.

The Super Bowl week shenanigans kicked off last night, as players and coaches gave their first interviews about the big game.

With that being said, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was asked one of the most ridiculous questions I’ve ever heard in my life from a reporter…

“Is Sunday a must win game?”

And with a blank face that screams “are you kidding me?” Sirianni responded:

“Yeah.”

I mean no sh*t. Of course it’s a must win game. It’s the most important game of the season. Coaches are typically asked this when they’re on the fringe of making the postseason, or if they’re on the hot seat. Not when they’re playing for the CHAMPIONSHIP.

However, it sounds like the question was all in jest, as Ross Tucker knows the guy who asked the question, and he cleared the air on “Angelo Cataldi and the Morning Team.”

Tucker said the guy is a sports reporter out of Pittsburgh, and is a buddy of his:

“Sirianni seems absolutely laser-focused. A guy I know tried to ask him if it’s a must-win game, and he was joking around, and Sirianni wasn’t having any of it. He just said yeah and moved on to the next guy.

His name is Dave Dameshek, he’s a buddy of mine, he’s a Pittsburgh guy. He asks it every year at the Super Bowl, and it’s funny because every year it gets picked up by all these different outlets and it becomes a big thing. It’s a joke. The guy used to be a comedian or a comic writer, so it’s a joke.

Sirianni was ready for it, because he wasn’t having anything of it.”

Nevertheless, you still can’t avoid the fact that Sirianni absolutely wasn’t having it with the BS question. Ol’ Dameshek could’ve used his opportunity to ask something useful, but nah.

The Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs square off this Sunday at 6:30 PM in Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Here’s another weird one…
