Not gonna lie, the thought has often crossed my mind:
“What in the hell is Chris Cagle doing nowadays?”
The guy was an absolute hitmaking machine in the 2000s, with songs like “What Kinda Gone,” “Chicks Dig It,” “Let There Be Cowgirls,” “Laredo,” “What A Beautiful Day,” and more.
However, the guy seemingly fell off the face of the planet, and hasn’t even released a new single since 2013.
But, after seeing this video it appears Chris Cagle is alive and well, playing some shows here and there and calling out some asshole fans at his concerts while he’s at it.
A situation went down recently at one of his shows at the Grizzly Rose in Denver, Colorado, and TikTok user @ladytani711explained the situation in the caption:
“Some people in the audience were acting like jackasses and spitting beer on people in the front row and Chris saw it and stopped the new song he was debuting right in the middle and kicked the people out.
As they were being removed he wrote a song on the spot to shame them on the way out.”
The video kicks off with Cagle on stage saying:
“Why do y’all come here for this shit, why do y’all do that? I hope you’re so embarrassed of how you’re representing yourself to be honest with you.
And look, I’ve done stupid shit my whole life, and I’ve been right where you’re at, but I’m damn sure not gonna stand here and watch this go down. I’ve got three women in front of two men who are getting ready to get into a fistfight.”
He then leans out into the crowd to calm a woman down.
“I don’t need the story. I’m just trying to do my job. I’m just sitting here like what the f*ck?”
Cagle then proceeds to freestyle a country song about the f*cktards who were acting complete morons, and the freestyle itself may be better than any country song on the radio right now.
Needless to say, the guy still has it, and the better news is that he debut a brand new song, meaning there is new music from Cagle on the way for the first time in almost a decade.
