Man, what in the cousin-f*ckin’ hell has Game of Thrones gotten into?

Spoiler alert…

In Sunday night’s episode of Game of Thrones’ prequel series House of the Dragon, fans were left speechless after Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and her uncle Daemon Targaryen get their incestuous freak on in the middle of a brothel.

Although, Daemon couldn’t quite get it up, and stormed off, it was wildly uncomfortable.

Of course, incest is nothing new for Game Of Thrones, we all saw Jaime and Cersei Lannister bump uglies for seasons in the original series. But uncle and young niece who is barely of age… creepy.

And while it was a bit bewildering to fans, actress Milly Alcock, who plays Rhaenyra, said it wasn’t an awkward scene to film alongside Matt Smith, who plays Daemon.

She told the New York Post:

“No, strangely enough. (Matt Smith) and I were just kind of mates. So it was quite comfortable.

We had an intimacy coordinator, and we worked with her through the rehearsal process and blocked it out months before.”

However, for all the naked extras in the scene… a different story.

Alcock continued:

“Clare Kilner, our director, made sure that we hadn’t seen any of the brothel stuff until we were shooting. So, that was our first time walking through the brothel, and he’s guiding her through the room with all of these other bodies.

So, that was quite shocking. You’re like, ‘This is kind of weird and silly.’

There were extras who we had just met who were like, 69-ing for 12 hours. It’s pretty gnarly. We felt pretty overdressed, because everyone else was nude.”

I mean, everybody wants to be an extra on Game Of Thrones…. Aaron Rodgers, Chris Stapleton, even Ed Sheeran had a quick speaking role.

But showing up, getting naked (or mostly naked), and humping a total stranger for 12 hours? That’s one helluva way to earn a paycheck.

Alcock also admitted that she thinks that Daemon is good for her character:

“I think it’s complicated, I think Daemon is good for her … but whether or not he’s the right thing for her, time will tell.

Rhaenyra is at an age where she can’t tell the difference between platonic love, romantic love and lust, because she hasn’t lived long enough and gone through those experiences.

I think that she understands that there’s a feeling here (with Daemon), but she’s not quite sure where it lands, and how to behave with it and navigate it.”

House of the Dragon is set around 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, following Daenerys Targaryen’s ancestors as they determine who will take the King’s place on the throne.

King Viserys named his daughter, Rhaenyra, his heir, making his younger brother Daemon incredibly jealous. However, Rhaenyra is very hesitant to fulfill her princess duties and take a husband, much to her father’s displeasure.

Will she take her uncle as her husband and they rule together?

Only time will tell…

House Of The Dragon airs Sunday nights on HBO.
