Cody Jinks Gives Backstage Look At Texas Concert, Performs “Cast No Stones”

Amongst Cody Jinks’ impressive catalog of songs, it’s simply impossible to pick the best one.

Of course, “Loud and Heavy,” “Hippies and Cowboys,” “Must Be The Whiskey,” and “Mamma Song” are the most well known amongst your average country music fan, but there’s one song in particular that cuts incredibly deep, and doesn’t get nearly as much love as it deserves…

And it’s “Cast No Stones.”

Off of Jinks’ 2015 Adobe Sessions album, “Cast No Stones” is about facing those “Holier than thou” people who tend to look down on those who don’t live the so-called “perfect and pure lifestyle” as they do.

The lyrics speak for itself:

“But I cast no stones
What gives you the right
To tell me my business
Good God, man, you’re out of your mind
So put up your Bible
Oh, let me get mine
I’m not dragging the whole world to hell
You’re wasting my time…”

You can almost feel the chip on Jinks’ shoulder when he sings the song live, as you can tell he’s had quite a few run-ins with these kinda people himself.

Speaking of playing the song live, he recently dropped a video of him and his band playing the song at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in the Woodlands, Texas, from a backstage view in front of thousands and thousands of people.

The video is a testament to how far Jinks and his band have come over the span of their careers, really putting things into perspective.

“We started our dreams a long time ago in empty bar rooms throughout this beautiful country. That dream continues…. Here is a taste of it from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands Texas on May 21, 2022.

Some private moments before the show and into ‘Cast No Stones’.”
