Trippy Double-Mouthed Lake Trout Caught In New York

There must be something in the water…

New York Post says Debbie Geddes was lucky enough to get an extra surprise when she pulled a laker on deck. The Lake Trout’s bottom mouth almost seems to be pulled down and separated from the rest of its mouth causing it to look like it has two mouths.

This is the true once-in-a-lifetime catch… it’s not that we want to see an animal suffering, but imagine realizing what you are witnessing if you caught this thing. Just mind boggling.

It’s just more proof of what these fish and wildlife go through and can endure throughout their lives to survive.

Debbie Geddes says she was out with her husband for a fish when this happened.

“When this particular fish bit, it felt like I had a nice fish on. I actually commented, ‘I hope it’s as big as it feels!’

When we got it in the boat I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! Two mouths! And yet this fish was healthy and thriving! Pretty amazing!”

The next question would be simply put… How?

The answer isn’t obvious.

Geddes thinks its an injury while other online users says its from pollution in the lake which is known to have a lot.

“The public’s responses/theories are quite interesting, to say the least. I personally believe it was caused by a previous injury, most likely from another angler”

I would say that’s a good guess, myself. But then again, I’m no expert on fish injuries.

This is just wild though. It looks like mouth was pulled through the bottom of his jaw. However it happened, I’m very sure it wasn’t a pleasant event. That’s pretty awesome it’s surviving and well. The wound even looks to be very healed and healthy for the circumstances.

That’s a fishing story that even the grandkids will tell their fishing buddies.
