Michigan Kindergartner Brought Tequila To School, Shared A Bottle Of Jose Cuervo Mix With Classmates During Snack Time

This just about beats all I’ve ever seen…

According to NBC 15, a Livonia, Michigan,  kindergartner brought a pre-mixed alcoholic drink to school and shared it with four classmates.

Apparently, it was a bottle of Jose Cuervo mix with 10% alcohol content, and she passed it around to her classmates before a teacher stopped it.

One of the parents at Grand River Academy, Alexis Smith, said she got a call from the school about the incident and instantly had a million questions running through her head:

“There were so many thoughts running through my mind like ‘oh my god,’ you know, ‘what if it was open before the girl brought it to school, how much was it?”

The school informed her that one of her 5-year-old daughters classmates had brought it in. Alexis asked if her child was okay, but the school couldn’t give her a definite answer on how much she had drank, later saying she had a few sips.

Fox2 reported that the child who brought it poured the mix into a Dixie up for her classmates to sample… and if you’re wondering what the actual hell was going in here, so were other parents like Dominique Zanders.

She said that her daughter:

“Felt woozy, a little dizzy.”

We’ve all been there after a little too much tequila…

She said the girl who brought it in knew the drink contained liquor, and told everyone that upon distributing it to several other students:

“The girl poured it in her cup and she drank it and the girl ended up telling her what it is, and she went and told the teacher there is liquor in this cup, and the teacher gave her a funny face.

I had a small conversation with my daughter – nothing big – and she told me the girl knew it was liquor.”

The school has since released a statement that reads, in part:

“While we try to keep an eye on everything our students bring to school, that’s simply not possible.

It’s unfortunate that these types of adult beverages can be easily mistaken for child-friendly drinks.”

Well, if a 5-year-old knew it wasn’t a child-friendly drink, it seems to me like it shouldn’t really be rocket science for a teacher to figure that out, either.

I truly wonder how none of the teachers noticed the child pouring Jose Cuervo mix into her classmates cups, and didn’t hear her telling everyone she had alcohol, either.

Also, the fact that a kindergartner knew what she was doing by bringing that to school is kind of terrifying… it definitely makes you wonder what’s going on at home, too, and what her parents are doing. I don’t have any kids, so I guess I really can’t say, but it sounds like most of this should fall on them.

Sounds like she’ll be a fun teenager, though… good luck mom and dad.
