For football fans, this is the saddest time of the year.
College football is officially over, and NFL playoffs begin this week, meaning that we only a have a few short weeks before the anticipation of next season.
One of the most interesting stories this year’s NFL postseason, are the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The team was abysmal at the beginning of the season, but fought and clawed their way to a a 9-7-1 record to take the 13th seed, facing off the Kansas City Chiefs, who might be playing the best football out of anybody right now.
Of course, it’s kind of a miracle that the Steelers made it this far in Ben Roethlisberger’s final season, as the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers nearly tied their game Sunday night, almost kicking the Steelers out of the playoff race all together.
And ol’ Big Ben? He had some interesting things to say about the upcoming matchup versus the Chiefs…
And he said what everybody was already thinking… they don’t have a chance.
“We’re probably 20 point underdogs and we’re going to the #1 team, I know they’re not the #1 seed but they’ve won the AFC the last two years, arguably the best team in football… we don’t have a chance.
So let’s just go and have fun.”

“Out of the 14 teams that are in, we’re probably number 14. We’re double-digit underdogs in the playoffs. So, let’s just go play, have fun and see what happens.”
According to the New York Post, he was also asked about comparing this team to his 2005 team that had a miracle run to the Super Bowl. He responded:
“That team was a really good football team. We’re not as good a football team as we were then.”
Alright, It’s hard to tell if Big Ben is playing the underdog role to motivate his team, or if he knows retirement is coming up and his “Give-A-Shit” meter is almost empty.
However, we all know that the man likes to get a lil’ sarcastic every now and then, and Steelers fans believe this is all part of his plan… Or at least they’re praying to God it is.
Lol not even. We know Ben, and we know what’s up.

1. It was sarcasm and 2. Why would you make yourself look bad. Lol dropping passes in a playoff game wouldn’t do you favors come contract negotiations.

My jaw is on the ground reading the replies and seeing so many people miss what was such obvious sarcasm from Big Ben.

Pretty key to actually listen to the context & cadence in which he speaks — he is talking about how the team is perceived from the outside, in the eyes of bookmakers, pundits, fans, etc.
You'd think people would know what Ben's like after 18 years.

All is well in Pittsburgh apparently… except…
They still don’t have a chance.
