Cody Jinks Crucifies Sam Hunt’s “Hard To Forget”: “Biggest Piece Of Sh*t I’ve Heard In A Long Time”

Sam Hunt in a hat and a man in a hat

Cody Jinks just went full-blown scorched Earth on Sam Hunt… and to be honest, it doesn’t sound like he even knows who Sam Hunt is.

According to a recent Facebook post, Cody was at the dentist today (which already sucks for the most part) and they were playing a shitty pop country radio station over the office speakers.

Cody prefaced his encounter by saying that he hasn’t listened to mainstream radio in years, but when he heard a sample of Webb Pierce’s “There Stands The Glass,” he thought he might be in for a nice little country radio surprise.

He thought wrong…

“I guess I’m just behind the times, I don’t keep up with what’s going on with mainstream radio serving any format. I turned that shit off years ago when I heard how bad the major market stations from most every genre were caving to big labels and playing trash. Trash rock, trash country, trash r&b, trash metal, etc. I don’t make fun of people for what record labels make them sing, I simply chose not to be one of those people, cool.

However, I was waiting at the dentist office today and they had on a pop country station. That’s fine, but I thought that when the iconic Webb Pierce song “There Stands The Glass” came on there might be a ray of sunshine. Then the sample went off and I heard the biggest piece of shit I’ve heard in a long time. I didn’t know who it was but I was pissed. So much in fact that my blood pressure went up and the dental staff had to wait till it went down to start on me. For the love of God, please stop incorporating classic Country samples into shit songs. It’s not paying homage, it’s a slap in the face.”

DAMN…

Of course the song he is talking about is Sam Hunt’s “Hard To Forget,” which is currently sitting at #5 on the Country Airplay Chart. And while I’m sure his sentiments are shared by many in the country music world (myself included regarding the use of classic samples), and especially traditional country fans, I don’t recall an artist going this hard on another song in recent memory. At least not publicly…

Then again, if you really want feel your head explode, just listen to Zac Brown’s “Swayze.” That song is enough to put anybody in a fiery rage.

In case you’re not familiar…

And here’s a little something to cleanse the palate.
