Things are getting heated in women’s college basketball. And I’m not just talking about Caitlin Clark and all of the records she’s broken as she’s set the entire basketball on fire.

Fireworks erupted during the SEC Championship Game this afternoon between LSU and South Carolina when an altercation broke out on the court after a foul from LSU star (and rapper) Flau’jea Johnson.

Johnson fouled South Carolina’s MiLaysia Fulwiley and then pushed Ashlyn Watkins as she was walking away.

South Carolina’s 6’7″ center Kamilla Cardoso then pushed Johnson and knocked her to the ground, which brought both teams off the bench – and Johnson’s brother jumping out of the stands and over the scorer’s table to defend his sister.

Johnson’s brother was able to grab Cardoso, but seemed to think better of it once he saw how tall she was. And police were quick to grab him, handcuffing the man and escorting him out of the game.

The benches for both teams, along with Cardoso, were ejected after the melee, and play resumed for the remaining 2 minutes of the game before the Gamecocks came out on top of the Tigers, 79-72.

Maybe it’s time to start tuning into women’s basketball after all.
