Shoulda been a little more focused on getting ready for the Rose Bowl…
Alabama football is gearing up to play the University of Michigan in the College Football Playoff semifinals on New Year’s Day. But one of their players is facing some new legal trouble after being arrested in Tuscaloosa for allegedly spreading more than Christmas cheer.
According to Sports Illustrated, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Elijah Pritchett was arrested by Tuscaloosa police on Wednesday night after being charged with knowingly spreading a sexually transmitted disease, a class-C misdemeanor.
No further information was released due to the nature of the charges, but Pritchett was ultimately released on a $500 bond.
The 6’6″ tackle appeared in every game for the Crimson Tide this season, and is expected to compete for the starting job after recently announcing that he would remain at Alabama after originally entering his name in the transfer portal.
The team hasn’t commented on whether Pritchett will still be eligible to play in the Rose Bowl.
