I can’t even fathom how insane it must be to hunt elk.
I could never even imagine seeing one of these creatures up close and personal, because they aren’t found in my part of the country, so needless to say I get pretty jealous of these elk hunters in places like Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho who get to sit in the blind and witness the gorgeous scenery while hunting these massive creatures.
With that being said, this elk hunter right here got to REALLY experience a bull elk up close and personal.
In this wild video, you can see a hunter sitting in his blind, when all of a sudden a massive bull walks straight up to the blind, and begins to sniff around, smelling the scent he had sprayed all over the spot.
The video was posted to Instagram by Troy Butler, and he explained the wild scene in the caption:
“Don’t know where to hold my pins at 8” away lol. Fyi it’s not a practice tip it’s a swacker broadhead the blades are straight up and down. Cool encounters like this are why we love this!!!

Needless to say, this is an elk hunt this hunter will never forget.
