Looks like the internet may have an answer to its biggest question after this weekend’s appearance from Taylor Swift at the Kansas City Chiefs game.
Taylor set the internet on fire when she showed up at Arrowhead Stadium to watch the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears this weekend, after weeks of rumors about her relationship with star tight end Travis Kelce.
The rumors were all but confirmed when she appeared in a private box with Kelce’s mother, and left in a convertible with Travis after the game.
And Kelce went all out to impress his new lady, reportedly clearing out a restaurant for a private dinner after the game.
But one of the biggest topics of conversation was the spouse of another Chiefs player.
Brittany Mahomes, wife of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has dominated headlines in recent years for her antics at Chiefs games and the way she always seems to find a way to make herself the center of attention (along with Patrick’s annoying younger brother Jackson).
So as soon as Taylor showed up at the game and commanded all the attention, people were wondering how Brittany was handling having someone else take her spotlight:
Swifties even started going at Brittany Mahomes in the comments of her latest Instagram posts, intensifying the war between the two fanbases (does Brittany Mahomes really have her own fanbase?).
But it seems that the war may be over – or never really have started in the first place.
According to TMZ, Brittany and Taylor hit it off at the dinner after the game, and were even seen taking shots together. The duo reportedly said they want to keep in touch, and plan to hang out again soon. (Which could just be because Taylor is planning on being at the Chiefs game against the Jets in New York this weekend, but who knows).
Either way, it sounds like the internet’s manufactured beef between the two never really came to fruition.
And instead, we’re going to have two of the internet’s biggest personalities teaming up together on the same side.
I’m not sure anybody’s really ready for that one…
