Former legendary and polarizing NFL defensive back and current co-host on The Pat McAfee Show, Adam “Pacman” Jones, has been arrested for making terroristic threats and alcohol intoxication at an airport near Cincinnati early this morning, according to TMZ.
The former sixth round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft was taken into custody around 6 AM, and was booked an hour later.
He’s facing misdemeanor charges of alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, and terroristic threatening, all going down on the anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Jones shared his side of the incident after his release, where he defended his actions.
He seems to indicate that the issues stemmed from a broken charger at his seat, and says he bought two seats and wanted to move.
You can hear him say in the interview:
“I bought two seats because I’m going somewhere, and they said ‘If you want to move, we’ve got to turn around the plane.’
I don’t want to turn around the plane, but I want to use the club because I bought the two seats. So we turn around the plane, we’ll get the body camera, so they call me off the plane, don’t say nothing wrong.
They lock me up and here we are.”
He then said the terroristic threat part was “bullsh*t,” and addressed the intoxication claim:
“Do I look intoxicated to you? I’ve only been locked up for two hours. Do I look intoxicated to you? … Y’all talking about 5, 6:30 in the morning, who in the hell is drunk at 6:30 in the morning?
So people just wake up and be drunk going to the airport? Me driving to the airport, I’m dead drunk driving to the airport? … This sh*t is getting old, we’ve got to stop doing this.”
Granted, he doesn’t particularly seem drunk, but who really knows… something tells me more details, as well as bodycam footage will surface. It remains unclear what the “terroristic threats” were made.
