Jelly Roll Stops Show To Recognize Vietnam Veteran: “You’ll Never Buy Another Ticket To My Show…You’re Welcome Forever”

That Jelly Roll‘s got a big ol’ heart.

The rapper-turned-country star has quickly become one of the biggest names in country music, not only for his songs like #1 hits “Son Of A Sinner” and “Need A Favor,” but also for his incredible kindness and generosity both on and off the stage.

Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, has been open about his past struggles, which includes spending much of his youth in and out of jail. And since becoming a superstar, he’s constantly doing his best to give back to his community, whether it’s performing for inmates or putting on private shows for fans with terminal cancer.

Just recently, Jelly Roll also joined comedian Theo Von in pledging to donate $10,000 to support the victims of the recent wildfires in Maui.

And he once again showed off that kindness and generosity at a recent show when he spotted an American hero in the crowd.

During a performance at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on his sold-out Backroad Baptism Tour, Jelly Roll spotted a man in the front of the crowd wearing a Vietnam Veteran hat, and took a minute to recognize the gentleman for his service to our country:

“This gentleman right here has got a Vietnam Veteran hat on. He has been standing right here and rocking with me all night long.

I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you and your service, sir. Thank you so much.”

He then made a promise to the veteran that he had a free ticket to any Jelly Roll concert he ever wanted to attend:

“I hope you enjoyed the hell out of the night. And I promise you this, you’ll never buy another ticket to my show. I wanna get my people with you. You’re welcome forever. Thank you.”

Recognizing the men and women who keep us free. Just another example of Jelly Roll’s big ol’ heart.
