The iconic rookie prank…
The NFL season is right around the corner, and I was ready for it yesterday. The preseason is already underway, and players across the league are still hoping they have a shot to make the 53-man roster by Week 1.
Of course, all eyes are on this year’s rookie class, with coaches and fans alike trying to figure out who is going to be the next NFL star.
However, for the rookies themselves, they’re usually subject to some mild hazing (if you could even call it that), and one of the oldest tricks in the book is making them pick up the check for a team dinner (usually just your position group).
Enter Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Tyler Scott.
The 4th round pick out of Cincinnati was out to dinner with the other wide receivers, and guess who was picking up the check… for 20 THOUSAND DOLLARS?
Yup, Tyler Scott…
Lucky for him, it was just a joke (their bill wasn’t that high, and he didn’t pay it), but the team was laughing their asses off over it. Chase Claypool was losing it.
Meanwhile, Scott looked like he wanted to die… I mean, the look on his face says it all:
You love to see it.
Led by the great Justin Fields, my Bears are on a mission to win the division this year, and you love to see a little team bonding before it gets underway.
The Bears and Colts kick off later today at 6 pm CT.
Oh, and Tyler was a good sport about all of it:
“Yeah yeah, y’all boys got me last night with the prank. Love my unit though.”
