If you ever wondered what mother nature’s equivalent of a human running into a glass door is, this is about as close as you are going to get.
Alligators tend to be pretty menacing creatures, often not bothering people for the most part, but always being able to intimidate us humans if they want to. There are countless videos of people getting too close to the gators and then having to run for their lives away from the deceptively fast reptiles.
However, sometimes the tables are turned on the alligators, like this poor one that was (for some odd reason) stuck in a suburban driveway when a truck came rolling up near it. Why was the gator parking itself in front of the garage? Who really knows, but all that matters is the next ill-fated move that the alligator makes, which happens to be a very comical one.
As the vehicle rolls up next to the scaly creature, the alligator’s “fight or flight” response kicks in, and it goes sprinting in the opposite direction. And running away isn’t always a bad idea, but it is when there is a solid structure in the direction you are trying to escape.
The gator, running at full speed, smacks its snout and face right into the garage door, appearing to leave a dent as it falls backwards a bit after contact. The video unfortunately cuts off right after it runs into the door, but it’s clear that the gator is feeling a little dazed and confused (alright, alright, alright) after the air-headed move.
The video’s caption reads:
“APEX PREDATOR ONE BILLION YEARS NO EVOLUTION ALREADY PERFECT.”
Yep, if that alligator was in the NFL, I think it would be in concussion protocol after that hit…
X users (formerly Twitter users) couldn’t get enough of the video, making jokes and even defending the alligator in the reply section below the post:
hes really embarrassed that this video is being shared. (me and the gator go way back)
