It’s Shark Week ladies and gentlemen, the point of the year where we binge watch just about any wild shark video imaginable in appreciation of these majestic, and at times ruthless creatures.

So, as I do this time of the year, I found myself going down a deep rabbit hole of some of the craziest shark videos out there.

This one stuck out to me immediately. Maybe it’s because it reminds me of my buddy who likes to talk about how he could wrestle a bear or shark with his two bare hands after he’s about a case of beer deep on a Friday night.

Who knows… all I know is that this guy is absolutely nuts.

According to the New York Post, a man was seen wrestling a shark on the shore of a Long Island beach, trying to be Steve Erwin or something.

The insane footage was captured last August at the Smith Point Beach on Fire Island.

Apparently, the man was fishing and hooked it by mistake.

In the video, you see the shark fighting for its life, as it tries to squirm its way back into the water, but the relentless dude continues to pull it to the sand. As the guy continues to pull the shark to shore, another guy jumps in to help him out.

The shark, which was identified as a non-aggressive sand tiger shark, continues to fight for its life as the man continued to wrestle with it.

Of course, there’s no telling what unfolded before the man began to pull the shark out of the water, so it’s hard to tell if the actions were justified or not.
