Man, this Kevin Costner divorce situation just keeps getting worse.
We were all shocked after getting hit with the news that the famed actor’s wife of nearly 19 years, Christine Baumgartner, was filing for divorce.
And on top of that, she’s asking a whopping $248,000 a month in support to continue to support her and their children’s lifestyles, as she doesn’t have the funds to support them herself.
However, there’s one problem…
According to Costner, his main source of income has come through the success of Yellowstone.
According to Page Six, the actor is now saying he can’t afford those hefty child support demands because he’s no longer with Yellowstone.
Yep, as much as it hurts, Costner is now officially saying he’s no longer a part of the show.
He stated in documents retrieved by the outlet:
“I will earn substantially less in 2023 than I did in 2022. This is because I am no longer under contract for Yellowstone, the principal source of my income the last year.”
That’s a tough pill to swallow. I know, I know, it’s been announced that Costner is no longer with the show for quite some time now, but just to hear it from the big man himself is pretty difficult.
What is Yellowstone without John Dutton?
So obviously John will be killed off the show early on in the second half of season five, but it’s just going to feel strange watching the rest of the season without him.
And as for the divorce, it feels like this couldn’t have come at a worse time for Costner, and hopefully the two will come to terms with an understandable agreement.
