Miranda Lambert is going to help a lot of dogs with this money.
Her foundation MuttNation, in partnership with Tractor Supply, have teamed up for the third consecutive year to donate more than $250,000 to animal shelters across the country.
With their Mutts Across America program, MuttNation will give a surprise $5,000 grant to one shelter or foster-based rescue in every state.
And this year, their focus was outstanding shelters that help seniors, special needs dogs, large dogs, pit mixes and dogs that typically the hardest to get adopted.
It comes as a complete and total surprise to each recipient, as they have no way to apply for the grant and have no advanced noticed that they are getting it.
Miranda, who is very clearly a huge dog lover, says she’s thrilled to be able to bring a spotlight to so many shelters who go above and beyond to help find so many dogs good and loving homes:
“Mutts Across America is MuttNation’s cornerstone – it was our first signature program.
These grants give us the chance to show our appreciation and spotlight shelters across the country for their hard work, year-round, to improve the lives of shelter pets.
We’re so proud to partner with Tractor Supply on this and other programs, allowing us to elevate our goals and increase the number of animals’ lives we can change.”
Her mother, Bev Lambert (who she started the foundation with), added that it’s always hard to narrow it down to just one shelter, because there are so many great ones all over the country:
“Finding deserving shelters and rescue groups across the country is easy. It’s narrowing it down to just one in each state that’s really tough.”
