King shit.

George Strait recently scored several new certifications from the RIAA, notably two new Platinum records for “She’ll Leave You With A Smile” and “Run.”

This means that both singles have moved over one million units since they were both released on his 2002 The Road Less Traveled record:

They’re both two of my all-time favorite George Strait songs, and you just love to see The King still racking up Platinum records at 71 years young like it’s nothin’.

He also recently set two attendance records at Milwaukee’s American Family Field and Columbus’s Ohio Stadium, as he’s currently on a condensed summer tour run at stadiums across the country.

“She’ll Leave You With A Smile” was written by Odie Blackmon and Jay Knowles, and “Run” was written by Anthony Smith and Tony Lane and released as the lead single from Strait’s aforementioned album.

“Run” peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and “She’ll Leave You With A Smile” ultimately became a #1 hit for him when it topped the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 2002.

It was also the song that broke Conway’s record of 49 #1 songs on the country chart, becoming Strait’s 50th #1 hit.

And how about his performances of them from the recording of his first live album For the Last Time: Live From the Astrodome in Houston, Texas over 20 years ago now.

I swear, George Strait is smoother than butter, and I could seriously watch these live performance videos all day long…
