That steel, though…

ERNEST put a little country spin on John Mayer’s fan-favorite song “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room” for his Circle Sessions series, a follow-up to his incredible Salvage Sessions videos, and it’s damn good.

The song was included on Mayer’s 2006 hit album Continuum, and though it was never released a single, became a huge success nonetheless and has been certified Platinum by the RIAA.

And ERNEST, who’s a member of the Grand Ole Opry’s Opry NextStage class, stepped into the historic circle to perform a stripped-back cover of the Mayer hit.

Of course, the iconic backdrop of the Opry and the beautiful production from Ernest’s band makes the cover feel all the more special, and I think we’re gonna need a lot more John MayERN going forward (sorry, I had to)…

Anywho, if, like me, you’re a big John Mayer fan too, I think you’ll really appreciate this rendition and the way Ernest made it his own while still paying respect to the flawless original.

Definitely do yourself a favor and check it out:
