‘Yellowstone’ Was The Most Watched TV Series Of The 2022-23 Season

Yellowstone

It’s still hard to believe that Yellowstone will be coming to an official end after the conclusion of season five, after it was initially believed that the show was supposed to go on at least seven seasons.

Of course, there’s been a lot of questions about the show all year, ever since it was reported that Kevin Costner was allegedly leaving the show over scheduling conflicts due to his busy schedule, and that there was a Matthew McConaughey spinoff series in the works.

Although we aren’t certain that was the exact reason Costner will be leaving, we do know that the end of season five will be the last time the famed actor will be a part of the Yellowstone saga, and we also know that there is for sure a McConaughey spinoff series next in line.

Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see how Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan will write up this new ending.

It’s been a wild past few months for the show to say the least. However, throughout all the off-screen drama, the show still remained the most popular program on TV.

That’s right, according to Variety, Yellowstone was officially the most watched TV series in the 2022-2023 season, with season 5 drawing in 11.6 million viewers each week.

On top of that, it continues to be the only entertainment series to average a 2.0 rating or better among adults 18-49.

A couple of other Sheridan shows, such as the Yellowstone prequel series 1923, and Tulsa King also cracked the top 100 in the 2022-23 most watched TV series list.

I guess it’s always good when you’re able to go out on top.
